about

I started this song by chugging along on my bass and thinking of some melodies and lyrics. I wrote in a way to release fear and hesitation when it comes to love and taking chances in your life. Additionally, I wrote the chorus about literally going blind, about literally maybe going blink and needed to blink quickly so I can see it all if I do. I usually have a lot of angst in me and want to yell or sing harder, but this song I went for a more mellow and dreamy approach because thats what I felt.

Marshall brought out a more precise bass line that expanded the way I saw the song massively and his guitars brought a whole world to it. His producing power is killer, and he really brings me out of myself when I stuck in doubt and imposter syndrome.

Anthony opened up the track with his trademark drumming style, which makes the song really enter a much bigger dimension.

It's all parts of a whole. Kevin McCombs mastered it like a badass, Colin Crane made a killer cover with some photos Marshall and I took out at the poppy fields one barren season and added some more elements to it. They are both just the best.

lyrics

You
Split down the middle
Whispering names

Blue
Twisted in my sheets
It’s only a dream

Tiptoe on a telephone wire
Where do we go when we die
Where do we go when we die
Where do we go

This could be the end
Tied up in your hands
Blink quick not yet blind
I wanna see you again

This could be the end
Tied up in your hands
Blink quick not yet blind
I wanna see you again

You
Kick out the back seat
(i’m the back of your neck)
Show me the way
(i’m the spot on your skin)

Don’t shed a tear when it’s alright
Arms in the air when they’re broken
Will u beg me to stay

Moth wings
Sunlight
The break of dawn
Like bits of dust
We’re hanging on

Slip out the back door
And follow me
Into the weeds
They’re overgrown
Swallow me whole

This could be the end
Tied up in your hands
Blink quick not yet blind
I wanna see you again

Don’t slow down for me
(Where do we go when we die)
Don’t slow down for me
(i wanna see you again)
